A Big Thank You!

I received a gorgeous angora cap with a charming bunny pin on it in the mail yesterday! Tears were streaming down my cheeks with the emotion I felt. Lisa and Annette, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Everytime I wear the cap, I'll think of you and feel better.

Since I became ill with pancreatic cancer in January, my friends have been a tremendous help and support to me. I've received cards, emails, phone calls, visits, help in finding homes for my herd of angora rabbits, help in caring for the rabbits I have, and positive thoughts and prayers. The outpouring of kindness has been very uplifting and reminded me of the great goodness people are capable of.

I met with my oncologist on Monday and will begin my chemo treatment this coming Tuesday. While I'm not looking forward to the side effects of chemo, I'm ready to fight the cancer and pray that I will win.

Home again

I'm so glad to be home again following my surgery at IU Medical Center. My family and friends have been so supportive and along with my faith in God, are giving me the strength I need. I'm now diagnosed as stage 4 pancreatic cancer. While the surgeon wasn't able to remove the cancer as planned since it metastisized to my liver, he was able to do a modified surgery to keep me comfortable. The news was very difficult for my husband and I worry about him but we are hanging onto each moment we have left together. I'm not done fighting! Chemotherapy is planned beginning mid March as soon as I've healed sufficiently from my surgery.

Friends Joyce, Dustin, Kathy, Jo, Patsy, Jim, Sarah - there are too many to properly recognize here, are helping me. Joyce, Dustin, and Kathy are helping with finding homes for my angora rabbits and Joyce was here yesterday, doing bunny care.

It is times like this that I realize how blessed I am. I live on 10 acres of hardwood forest and being close to the earth and wildlife renews me.

Cinnamon Arrives!

A new French Angora has arrived at our bunny barn. We welcomed NB Cinnamon, a Chocolate Steel yesterday. She's a sweet friendly doe and is making herself right at home!
